The Chairman of the Coventry City Supporters Consultative Group Peter Ward has given his personal view on the calls by Les Reid of the Coventry Observer for an independent inquiry into the sale of ACL/Ricoh Arena to Wasps Rugby Club.
Peter said: "Firstly, the Supporters Consultative Group is not a campaign or protest group, nor does it, or can it, claim to represent the views of all Coventry City supporters.
"It is my personal belief that most supporters would welcome any call for greater transparency and a greater understanding of what has transpired with little or no consultation with supporters of the football club, or for that matter the tax payers of Coventry.
"Coventry City Football Club has significant support from people outside Coventry to whom Coventry City Council have an indirect obligation when it comes to matters that directly affect the football club.
"Unlike supporters who reside within the city boundary, supporters outside Coventry have no electoral/democratic powers over these Councillors who should be held to account."
