SBITC InForm Project For Men

Last updated : 04 January 2016 By SBITC

The InForm project currently provides FREE football and fitness sessions for men in Coventry. The sessions are led by Sky Blues in the Community’s coaches and support local men in becoming fitter and healthier.

In 2013 the Sky Blues in the Community project ‘InForm’ received a grant worth £292,571 from the Big Lottery Fund to embed it into Coventry for 5 years. The Big Lottery Fund is the largest distributor of National Lottery good cause funding across the UK. The Fund aims to enable others to make real improvements to communities and the lives of people most in need.

Men can attend free weekly football sessions for up to 1 year led by professional coaches. These sessions also offer health & fitness advice and information as well as progress tracking. The progress of the men who participate is tracked using a variety of methods such as health checks and fitness tests so men can literally see the changes and improvements they are making.

In the first 2 years, 376 local men have participated in the InForm project sessions with 292 attending long enough to have their health, fitness and lifestyle choices tracked:

  •  82% of these men have improved their health and fitness levels
  •  84% of these men have made healthier lifestyle choices
