Sam Allardyce Allegedly Caught In Hamper Fraud

Former Coventry City defender Sam Allardyce has been according to some sections of the media, allegedly caught out by a fraudster trying to sell luxury hampers for £30,000.

The West Ham boss along with Andy Carroll, according to The Independent, paid £11k to a man who reportedly turned up at the club’s training grounds in December promising Fortnum & Mason and Harrods hampers on the cheap.

However, the hampers never arrived and The Metropolitan Police confirmed that “Officers from Newham are investigating an allegation of fraud which occurred on Friday, 12 December. “It was reported to police on 24 December and inquiries are continuing. There have been no arrests.”

Andy Carroll hs tweeted to say that his money was safe.
