Robins: I Understand Why The City Supporters Booed

Coventry City manager Mark Robins has said that he understands why some of the City support who stayed to the end of a woeful 2-0 home defeat to Southend United, booed the team off.

“I one hundred per cent understand why the fans booed at the end,” said Robins, who had supporters singing "Getting Sacked In The Morning" and accusations of merely being a puppet of Tim Fisher and Mark Venus, to BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.

“I think there’s a lot of work that needs to be done. For me it was difficult to watch against a powerful side. They’ve come with a game plan wanting to play route one football and they’ve managed to do that to decent effect.

“As a spectacle it certainly was a poor game overall. It was one of the worst I’ve seen for a long time and it’s something we need to put right pretty quick.

“It’s not been a great night but it’s one of those things where you’ve got to put a marker down and say this is going to be the lowest point and we’ve got to try and come through that.  I was shell shocked watching that horrendous performance.”
