Robins Disappointed About Two Penalties Not Given

Coventry City Manager Mark Robins was unhappy that two penalties were not given during the 2-0 defeat at Yeovil Town.

Some of the City support booed the team off for a poor performance but Robins told the Press Association: "I' 'm disappointed and I'm also annoyed at the fact that we've had two - certainly one - unbelievably blatant penalties not given.

"Their second goal in front of the dugout was a handball. Their player moved it forward with his arm and it wasn't deemed to be a handball, so I'm aggrieved at that. It was laughable but there were lots of decisions that weren't great.

"It sounds like sour grapes. I don't want to stand here and talk about decisions but it does have a bearing on things

" We could have gone in front - should have gone in front - but didn't and then the mistake puts you on the back foot. We've got to learn and we'll learn quickly," the Sky Blues boss continued.

"A lot of it was good play and some of it was downright bad luck and bad decision making on quite a few people's parts.

"You look at the overall result and it pales into insignificance for some people I suppose."

Yeovil Town boss Darren Way said: I'm very pleased because we put a lot of hard work in this week,. "I thought we caused them problems from start to finish. We looked very organised out of possession, but in possession towards the end there it was very pleasing.

"They're a side with huge resources, take a great support and have good players but we handled that extremely well and looked the better side. Today we got it absolutely spot on.

"It looked like we were enjoying defending. As a team with two banks of four and the front two as the first line of defence was very pleasing.

"From a psychological point of view, the way the players have handled the pressure that has been on them from the amount of goals that have been flying in has been fantastic.

"You can see the reaction from the supporters. They got behind the team and have gone home very happy today."
