Coventry City new signing Peter Ramage has said that he is fit and raring to go for the Sky Blues.

Ramage who has signed until the end of the season, told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “It’s been in the pipeline over the Christmas period so I am delighted to get it done and to have shown enough to secure a deal.

“It’s a big bonus to come into a side that are pushing in the upper regions of the league and hopefully I can add something to the squad to help achieve the goals the club has set.

“I was at Barnsley last season in League One and it’s a very tough league, very competitive with players who are capable of playing at a higher level and from what I have seen in training I can see we’ve got enough quality to push on in the second half of the season.

“I’m fit and ready to go. I am a pretty fit guy anyway and I will be working on my match sharpness in training but I am raring to go. Hopefully I can use my experience to help the younger lads.

“I’m here until the end of the season and I’ll give it everything I have got and see what happens. If something comes after that I’ll be over the moon.

“I’m not a big ugly centre-half, I’m ugly but I have always been coached from a young age to be a communicator. I am not blessed with pace – I wish I was – so I have had to work on other attributes and my biggest asset is being an organiser and trying to lead from the back."
