PSB Group Plan Seventh Minute Protest

The Preservation Sky Blue Group have issued a statement out-lining their plans for a protest at Coventry City's game at Sheffield United on Saturday.

Their statement is as follows:

"If anybody was in any previous doubt one look at the current League One table confirms our worst fears. Coventry City Football Club is now in a massive fight to avoid relegation to English Footballs 4th tier. A heart-breaking prospect if ever there was one.

Saturdays match against Sheffield United is now a huge game and we would urge all Sky Blues fans to try and get up to Bramall Lane if they possibly can. PSB will be there, hopefully urging the lads on to a shock victory and giving as much vocal support as we can muster.

However our frightening position, 20th place and just a point off the drop zone hasn't just happened overnight. This has come as a result of serious neglect by our owners SISU. Whilst they have been happy to continue to throw good money after bad pursuing hopeless court cases there has been hardly any investment in the playing side. In their time at the club we've gone from a decent Championship side to a team in freefall. A team that if this slump is not arrested shortly will be starting next season in League Two.

That for a club of Coventry City's tradition and previous proud history is totally unacceptable. We can all argue about the number of different parties who have  "blood on their hands " , we can debate whether Steven Pressley is the right man for the job but as far as PSB is concerned the main culprits in this shocking affair and the ones who now need to get out of our football club and out of our city are undoubtedly SISU.

This is not just about those of us who have been watching the Sky Blues for years and for whom it has become a way of life but as we've said before it's about future generations as well. We want OUR children to be proud to pull on the city shirt and in future years to encourage their children to do the same.

The immediate future of OUR club lies firmly in the hands of our current owners SISU and it is to them that we turn our attention on Saturday in the latest phase of our campaign.

At Sheffield United our message will be this;

"Our club is in massive crisis. Join our protest  and urge our owners SISU to sell up. The club is in its current predicament due to non-investment in the team while money is being found and wasted on hopeless court cases. All the time OUR club is closer to dying.  SISU…It’s time to go!

We will be asking all those Sky Blues fans in attendance to join in the protest which will start at kick off at 3pm. Paper sheets showing a £ sign will be made available to all city supporters ahead of the game.

At kick off  we ask our fans to raise those  signs high above their heads for 7 minutes to signify the 7 disastrous years of SISU ownership. Thereafter  we want fans to get fully behind the team and hopefully cheer them to a much needed victory.

We aim  to show the watching football world that we've had enough of legal challenges and court cases and just want to see OUR football team being treated as priority for a change.

We urge all Sky Blues fans to back us now and in the future and join our fight. The fight to preserve OUR Coventry City."
