PSB Group - The Season That SISU Could Win Fans Back

Last updated : 25 June 2015 By PSB Group

Hi and welcome to the latest PSB blog 25/06/15 talking all things Sky Blue.

THE SEASON THAT SISU COULD WIN FANS BACK!

Sisu, as we all know (apart from Peter Ward of course) are loathed by the majority of city fans, rightly so. There are an endless number of perfectly  valid reasons for this.

It is a tragic but undoubted truth that some fans are completely finished with the club and will remain so until SISU depart. There are others who don't care who runs the club as long as they run the club properly and produce a decent team on the pitch.

We see this season 15/16 as pivotal as to which direction the club will go in. We believe it to be the most critical season since they began their ill fated tenure back in 2007.

We believe that to be the case for this reason.  CCFC have clearly lost a huge number of fans due to SISU and there mismanagement of the club. However despite that they have made some very small positive steps so far this pre season.

Appointing Tony Mowbray the fans overwhelming choice as the first team manager, then agreeing to his demands for his own back room staff and a proper scouting system put in place have to be a step in the right direction.

That followed by news of the relocation of the club shop to Arena Park next to the Ricoh, a 4 year deal to have Nike manufacture our strip and training gear, lower priced season tickets and match day tickets even for away fans have to be seen as positive steps. Add some decent signings into the equation and potentially our owners might actually be on the right road to win back some fans back and see attendances rise.

This won't be because fans are suddenly believing in SISU but merely because they are prepared to support the club if they see it moving forward whilst showing some ambition. Let's be brutally honest the club have shown zero ambition in the last number of years.

This is seen by many as the last chance for SISU and our message to them now is plain and simple.

'DONT BLOW IT'

There are clearly many bridges to be built between city fans and the club owners but the quickest way for this to happen is also pretty simple. Sign some decent players that are capable of contributing towards a promotion challenge!

So far we have been linked to very few players which in itself is highly frustrating. Even the few players that we have been linked to are hardly going to have fans queuing up for season tickets or new shirts with the players names on the back.

We know that we can only expect free transfers this summer but there are some exciting big names for any League One club to snap up so let's get on with it and give fans some pre season cheer.

We have made a fantastic appointment in Tony but he needs to be backed otherwise the appointment will be pretty pointless. We really feel like this season is make or break so we want to see the club strive in every way possible to be successful this year. It's been better off the pitch than what we are used too. There's less talk of court cases ( although we know the next day in court is less than 2 weeks away) and there are undoubtedly more positive CCFC related stories in the press to read but we need to see positive progress on the pitch.

If we have another season like last year then we fear that many more fans will wash their hands with the club, leaving the club in a state from which they will never recover.

NEW STADIUM- WHERE IS SANDRA GARLICK ?

Now we don't know how many CCFC fans are familiar with twitter but if you're not please let us quickly explain. There used to be a 'Stadium Forum' twitter account run by Sandra Garlick. This twitter account was set up to keep city fans up to date about the new ground that SISU say they are building for CCFC. This account used to be very busy engaging on a daily basis with many city fans about the up and coming stadium forums that the club would organise for fans to put forward ideas regarding the new ground. All was very cordial and civilised but then this account for no apparent reason started to block fans. Some of whom had severe doubts but few of them behaving unreasonably.

Bizzarely the account then unfollowed all of it's followers and then become inactive. We at PSB and many other city fans want to know WHY?

Why has this account once so active often tweeting many times a day about this new stadium now become inactive ? We need to know.

Does this now mean the club have scrapped plans to build a new ground?

Have we at PSB missed something?

Has the club or Sandra Garlick explained as to why this account has become inactive?

We at PSB group have never once entertained the thought that SISU would build a new ground but like all fans believe we have a right to be kept in the loop as to what our clubs genuine plans are moving forward.

Does this mean we are looking to strike a long term rent deal with Wasps to remain as tenants at the RICOH?

Whatever the situation we should be kept up to date about this matter.

We have asked Sandra Garlick as to why this account has become inactive. We now await her response and look forward to publishing it once received.

Over to you Sandra !
