Coventry City manager Steven Pressley admitted that he was very proud of his player.

The City boss told the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole:  “I am exceptionally proud of my side.

“I asked them to be brave in possession and they truly were. We remained true to our principles and some of our passing and movement were terrific tonight.

“When you’re 2-0 down at The Emirates it’s easy to go under but we went after Arsenal in the second half and I thought we looked the likelier side to score at that stage.

“We had two or three big opportunities but Arsenal’s quality shone through in the final ten minutes because they tire you out with their passing.

“But my players didn’t leave an ounce of energy on that pitch and I thought 4-0 was a bit hard on us

“We were playing against a side renowned for their passing and at times we matched them in the second half.

“I’m not sure we could have pressed them with that intensity for 90 minutes and when they can send on the likes of Giroud and Cazorla it shows the difference in resources between the two sides.

“But we’ve got some terrific young players who I am sure in time can play at the highest level and they can take so much confidence from this performance.”
