Pressley Continues His Striker Hunt

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley is continuing his search for a new striker.

With Rory Donnelly having returned to Swansea, the City boss continues to hunt for a striker and told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “I am looking for a replacement and we’re scouring the market just now. I keep saying it’s not easy. There are young players available and there are several players we have had our sights on and have enquired about, but they are not available at this moment in time.

"That may change in the next couple of weeks but we’re finding it really difficult.

“Ideally we’d like to get a player of experience who can link the play but I would think, at this moment in time, there’s no chance of having a new player in for Saturday.

"Things could change but we’ve got no-one lined up. We’re not even close on anyone, so we’re not even discussing a move with anyone.

“There are a couple of lads we had our eye on but it’s not possible at this moment. We’re aware that Callum Wilson is back in four weeks and looking at the type of strikers at the club we still have to find a replacement for Leon Clarke.

"Nathan Delfounseo is similar in many respects to Callum and I think it needs a player who can link the play and take the pressure in terms of the physicality in that role in the forward position.”
