Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he will be back from Scotland to travel to Doncaster Rovers with the players on Boxing Day.

As revealed on this site, Pressley will spending Christmas Day in Scotland and has given the players the day off.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: Pressley said: “I fly up Christmas Eve night and travel down by car for four or five hours on Christmas night so that I’ll be back in Coventry.

“I did it last year and it was fine. I could go to straight to Doncaster on Boxing morning but I’d rather be here on the bus going to the game with the players.

“I’ll spend Christmas morning with my wife’s family and then Christmas dinner with my own family and head back down the road after that.

“It’s not quite right for me to turn up at the stadium because I think it’s important I am part of the team with the bus.

“Added to that, you could have an accident on the motorway or hit traffic and I don’t want to take any chances.”
