Portsmouth, who are the first Premier League club ever to go into administration, were relegated today after West Ham beat Sunderland 1-0 at Upton Park and Iain Dowie's Hull City were beaten 4-1 at home by Burnley.

Coventry City's 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United sees City down to 17th. The Sky Blues are seven points ahead of third from bottom Sheffield Wednesday who lost 1-0 at Gordon Strachan's Middlesbrough. They dropped due to Barnley's 0-0 draw with Derby being enough to lift them above City.

Bottom side Peterborough lost 2-1 at home to Leicester and Plymouth lost 1-0 at Watford, with former Sky Blue John Eustace involved in the goal.

Third place Forest beat Ipswich 3-0 whilst fourth placed Cardiff were held 0-0 at home by Readng. Leicester are fifth with Swansea sixth despite losing 1-0 at Bristol City. Play-off chasing Blackpool were dumped 4-1 at Newcastle and QPR won 2-0 at Palace.

In League One, leaders Norwich were held by MK Dons whilst Millwall moved into second with a 4-0 win over Gillingham. Former City loanee Gary Madine got the winner for Carlisle at Brighton.

In the FA Cup Semi-Final, Chelsea beat Villa 3-0 at Wembley, meaning Coventry City are still the last Midlands side to win the FA Cup and in the Scottish Cup Semi-Final, Ross County pulled off a shock beating Celtic 2-0.
