A twenty four year old player for Ambleside FC has died hours after playing in a Coventry Alliance Premier Division fixture at Sphinx Drive.

The player went off with what appeared to be a stitch during Ambleside's 5-2 victory at Sphinx Sports & Social on Saturday afternoon but had suffered a heart attack and sadly passed away in hospital last night.

Sphinx Sports & Social player secretary Adie Fisher told CNS: "It really puts things into perspective, thoughts from everyone at Coventry Sphinx FC and Sphinx Sports & Social are with his friends and family at this very sad time."
