We are delighted to announce that Peter Bodak will be joining Coventry City Former Players Association as our Special Guest for the Sky Blues last home fixture of January against Scunthorpe United on Saturday 30th January 2016.

Peter tries to come back to the Ricoh as our special guest every season and will be looking to see if the Sky Blues can maintain their excellent home form against a team managed by former CCFC gaffer Mark Robins.

The current Sky Blues squad contains a plethora of youthful attacking talent which has made an similar impact to Peter’s first team arrival in the 1980s. Joining the Sky Blues as a schoolboy in 1977, his precocious talent and youthful confidence saw him soon break into the first team, debuting for the Sky Blues age 19 in 1980. He scored BBC’s ‘Goal of the Season’ for the Sky Blues in an F.A.Cup 4th round 3-1 victory at Maine Road, Manchester in January 1982. In his career for the Sky Blues he totalled 7 goals in his 44 appearances in all competitions.

Never dwelling too long at any of his subsequent clubs, he initally attracted interest from Manchester United and signed for them in summer 1982. However, he stayed only for the first 5 months of the season before moving across the city to the ‘other light blues’, Manchester City for the rest of the 1982-83 season.

The next two seasons were spent abroad with Seiko (Hong Kong) and Royal Antwerp (Belgium) before returning to the U.K. to play for Crewe Alexandra from 1986-88. Spells then followed with Swansea City (1988), Happy Valley (H.K.) in 1989 before finishing his League career at Fellows Park in 1990. From Walsall Peter then dropped down into non league football with Sutton Coldfield Town and Atherstone Town from 1991.
