On this day in Coventry City history.

In 1987, the Sky Blues embarked on a run in the FA Cup which was to lead to them getting to Wembley and winning the competition for the first time in their history.

1984 - Trevor Peake scored for City in a replay at Wolves which finished 1-1.

1981 - City draw 1-1 with Manchester City who include Tommy Hutchison. Steve Hunt scored for the Sky Blues with Duncan McKenzie netting for the Manchester club.

1976 - 13,777 turned up at Highfielld Road to see City beat Sheffield United 1-0 with an Alan Green goal.

1970 - City beat Manchester 3-0 with two from John O'Rourke and one from Neil Martin.
