O'Driscoll: I Thought We Were Fantastic

Walsall manager Sean O'Driscoll thought his side were fantastic during last night's 1-1 draw with Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena.

Speaking to the Press Association, the Saddlers boss said:  "We struggled in the first half - we had enough possession but we struggled with what to do with it,"

"I was hoping we`d get to half-time with a clean sheet but with Joe Cole`s quality they took the lead.'

"But we were grateful to get in at 1-0 down. Credit to the boys because in many ways they sorted it themselves.'

"We had to get another forward on the pitch and get two up top. Lots of things went on but they played on the front foot.'

"I said to them if they are going to lose the game, I`d rather lose it playing like we did in the second half because that is the way you can win it."

"I thought we were fantastic in the second half - we were really good defensively and in our attacking play," he continued.

"I`m very pleased, especially after a difficult game on Saturday against Brentford.'

"I thought we thoroughly deserved a point. We gambled a little bit and we ended the game with three forwards on the pitch.'

"It gave us us a few hairy moments at the back because they have got some quality in their team and are unbeaten at home all season."
