Coventry Sphinx manager Carl Nolan has had his letter of resignation accepted by the Sphinx Commitee.

Sphinx are third from bottom in the Midland Alliance League and won only two matches under his charge.

Sphinx Chairman Danny Cahill issued the following statement:

"It is regret that Coventry Sphinx Football Club have to announce the departure of their first team manager Carl Nolan with immediate effect.

Carl decided to hand in his resignation to me which I have accepted. He has no issues with the football club and thanked everybody for their support and wished us the best for the future. He was very gracious and that says a lot about the man.

Both parties agreed it was the right decision.

"Coventry Sphinx Football Club would like to thank Carl for all the hard work and commitment to Coventry sphinx FC since his arrival and we wish him all the very best in the future.

Assistant manager Andy Taylor has agreed to take on the role in a caretaker capacity until further notice.
