No Loans For Dowie

Coventry City manager Iain Dowie cannot bring in the loan players he wants due to the club's ongoing financial problems.

The City boss is struggling with injuries and with players getting booked (five each in the last two matches),Dowie has looked at a couple of players who could come in and do jobs.

Unfortunately, with the club now losing £100k a week, there is little chance of him being able to bring in these players.

"I have always said I would like some help now and we would like to go bang and go and get a couple of loans, which I could do," said Dowie to the CT.

"I have got one sorted but the finances say no and it is a frustration because if we did, I think we could really push on.

"If we get a couple of suspensions it could be an achillies heel,so it is something I am pressing and probing for and I wish the takeover would hurry up.

"But we will see how long it takes but I do think we do need a bit of strengthening."
