Nicholls Disappointed At City Ladies Defeat

Last updated : 25 August 2014 By Matty Roper

Coventry City Ladies manager Craig Nicholls has admitted his disappointment at the Sky Blues' 2-0 defeat at Sheffield FC.

Nicholls told Matty Roper: "Obviously today is a disappointing result as on another day we may have got something from it. We just seemed to lack the cutting edge today and we have plenty to work on prior to next weekend."

"We have had a difficult pre-season due to postponements of games and so on, maybe we aren't at our sharpest just yet but we will train in the week and work ready for next week."

City captain, Natasha Lynch echoed Nicholls words but thinks there are positives to take:

"Today was always going to be a tough game against what is a strong Sheffield side but the result is a disappointing one to take. We can be optimistic though of course, we created many chances in that game, we just need to be that little bit more clinical."
