Ndlovu to become a manager

Former Coventry City star Peter Ndlovu has stated he wants to move into football management now that he has retired from playing professional football.

Ndlovu is now studying at the Confederation of African Football's C-Licence course in Harare.

Ndlovu, who played for Coventry City from 1991 until 1997 and scored 39 goals in 176 appearances. He scored against Arsenal and later scored a thunderous winning goal at Highfield Road over arch rival Aston Villa. He was also the first visiting player to score a hat trick against Liverpool at Anfield for 30 years.

Ndlovu won 100 caps for Zimbabwe and scored 38 international goals. He moved to Birmingham City in 1997 before finding employment at a variety of other English and African clubs, finishing his days at South African side Thanda Royal Zulu.

Ndlovu, speaking to The Herald newspaper in Zimbabwe,said, “If you have been a footballer, you will stay in football forever after you finish playing, but you look at the next level which is coaching or giving back in one way or the other. Of course, during playing days, it takes a lot of time to focus on coaching, but once you are done with playing, it is easy to focus on other things and you can start your studies.”
