Coventry City keeper Joe Murphy has said that he passed himself fit in order to play against Ipswich Town on Monday night.

Murphy, injured his hamstring during the win over Derby County and was a doubt for the game but opted to play and told the CT's Andy Turner: "The injury is not too bad.

"I was touch and go whether to come off against Derby but I felt it was getting worse during the first half and the amount of balls you kick as a goalkeeper you are always wary.

"I did it when Jamie Ward was coming at me one on one and it must have been the way i slid and I felt a tweak in my left hamstring. It got tighter and tighter and I though that if I carried on I could be out for six or seven weeks.

"So thankfully, it was the right decision to come off and I rested it for six or seven days. I did a little bit of training on Friday and it felt ok.

"I managed to recover quite quickly because I thought i would be out for two weeks at first but I'm lucky because I am a quick healer.

"I can still feel it a little bit but I don't want to be missing games."
