Murphy To West Brom Holding Up Edwards Deal?

Last updated : 31 January 2019 By CNS Sport

There are reports by BBC Coventry & Warwickshire and Radio WM that Coventry City's chances of landing Kyle Edwards now depend on a former Coventry City loanee.

The reports claim that as we reported last week, former Coventry City loanee Jacob Murphy is wanted on loan by West Bromwich Albion.

The Wembley born winger made forty appearances for City in 2015/2016, scoring nine goals before returning to Norwich City who then sold him to Newcastle United for £12m.

Murphy has started only three times for Newcastle this season and West Bromwich Albion want to bring him in on loan for the rest of the season.

However, the radio stations are reporting that if Murphy does join the Baggies on loan for the rest of the season, they will loan Kyle Edwards to Coventry City and that is why there has been a delay.

Meanwhile, former City loanee Chris Dagnall has moved to Tranmere Rovers on a free transfer.

Dagnall, who was at Crewe Alexandra last season, has been at Bury but not been able to command a regular first team place.
