Mowbray Protecting Fleck

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he was protecting John Fleck from a tenth yellow card when he replaced him with Gael Bigirimana in the 5-0 win at Crewe,

Fleck is on nine bookings and Mowbray said to the Coventry Telegraph: “That booking will come– it has to because of the way he plays – but I’m jut delighted it wasn’t today.

“You can see the impact he has on our team and, with all due respect, Gael isn’t a John Fleck at this moment.

“He’s got lovely feet and passing ability but out of possession he’s got to learn to do what John has been doing for me ever since I got here.”
