Former Coventry City loanee Eddy Johnson is to play in the MLS next season.
The midfielder, who played for City in 2004/05 whilst on a season long loan from Manchester United had been playing for Austin Aztecs who are managed by twice City caretaker manager Adrian Heath.
Johnson was top-scorer for his club last season and has signed for Portland Timbers who make their MLS debut when their season kicks off in March.
Johnson, whose time at City was ended prematurely with an injury made 26 league appearances for the Sky Blues at Highfield Road.
