Former Coventry City manager Gordon Strachan is expecting to pay around £1m for Leon Best.

City Chairman Ray Ranson has been touting the striker who is out of contract at the end of the season, in the hope of getting some money for the Republic Of Ireland international, rather than having him able to leave on July 1st for nothing.

Middlesbrough are expected to sell Gary O'Neill to Stoke City for £4m according to some media reports and Strachan will be using that money to land Best, who has scored ten league and cup goals for the Sky Blues this season.
