Mens Health Week Challenge

Last updated : 15 June 2015 By SBITC

Men’s Health Week takes place 15th – 21st June 2015 and is challenging men to lead healthier lifestyles. Making small changes to your lifestyle can make a valuable difference to your overall health and well-being; reducing your risk of developing serious health conditions and helping you to live healthier for longer.

This year, Men’s Health Week is challenging men to: be active, drink sensibly, stop smoking, watch their weight, attend their NHS health check and/or look after their well-being. So, are you up for the challenge?

If you are an adult male, want to get more active and access free support with leading a healthier lifestyle, you can do it with the Sky Blues. Every week in Coventry, Sky Blues in the Community run free football and fitness sessions to support local men it becoming fitter and healthier. These sessions are led by a team of coaches who offer advice and information to help men make simple and effective changes to their day-to-day lifestyle.

These free sessions form part of the InForm project – a project funded by The Big Lottery Fund. The Big Lottery Fund is the largest distributor of National Lottery good cause funding across the UK. The Fund aims to enable others to make real improvements to communities and the lives of people most in need.

Thanks to The Big Lottery Fund, in the last 2 years, 376 men in Coventry have participated in InForm sessions. 292 men who have participated the weekly sessions have attended long enough to have their health and fitness tracked with 82% of these men improving their health and fitness.
