McSheffrey - Referee Gave Me Nothing All Evening

Coventry City old boy Gary McSheffrey thought that the referee gave him nothing in the 1-1 draw for Scunthorpe United against the Sky Blues at the Ricoh Arena.

McSheffrey told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner of being booked for simulation which took him up to ten bookings and a two game ban: "That’s his opinion,” said McSheffrey. “I don’t think the ref gave me anything all evening and I don’t think he gave us much as a team, so I don’t think he had a very good game.

“But it’s his opinion. It was a good move, Liam O’Neil cut one back and I had good touch breaking into the box at pace – yes, I went down a bit easy but I thought if I get there first there’s bound to be a tackle.

"So at the same time I was trying to avoid being crunched, if you like. He’s interpreted it as a dive but it’s his opinion and I have got to deal with it.”
