McSheffrey - Not Nice To See City Where They Are

Gary McSheffrey has said that it is not nice to see City in their current situation.

City are in 20th place in League One just three points above the drop zone, playing in front of some of lowest crowds ever seen for Sky Blues matches at the Ricoh Arena and speaking to Paul Crute of the Scunthorpe Telegraph, the Cov kid said: “As a fan from the city it is not nice to see the club where they are..

“They shouldn’t be in this league but you cannot live in the past. They are trying to head back in the right direction and I hope it happens. A city like Coventry needs a team in the top two divisions.

“When I was there second time around I still can’t get my head around how we got relegated out of the Championship with the squad we had.

“Things happened, they needed to make changes and get players off the wage bill. It was one of those things, training on your own, but you just have to get on with it.

“When I went to Birmingham I played three months later back at Coventry so it was a strange occasion but a special one as there was a big crowd.

“However, time has passed now and it is just another game I look forward to for Scunthorpe.”
