Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is considering loaning out Gary McSheffrey.

The former Coventry City man who joined Birmingham City for £2.325m has been out for four months with a knee injury but played his first game for Birmingham's reserve team last week and scored in a 4-1 win against Chesterfield.

Coventry, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace have all been linked with McSheffrey but Alex McLeish said to the CT after the Blues 1-0 defeat at City on Saturday: "I have not spoken to Gary about it but maybe it is something we can think about if we are looking to get him razor sharp for the run in.

"If it gets him a couple of games at a good level, I can't guarantee that right now."
