McCarthy Comes To Kyle's Defence

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has leapt to the defence of Kevin Kyle after sections of the Wolves support started to criticise the Scot.

"I'll tell you why there were a few murmurings about Kevin Kyle when he came in," McCarthy said to the Wolves Express & Star.

"Because of all the nuggets who go on messageboards and read what Coventry fans have said about him and pass on information. "He came here almost with negative equity and has to start with a minus - it's unbelievable and I find it incredible.

"It's great on Saturday that they're shouting his name, but two games ago at Cardiff he's getting it in his earhole. "I just think 'give him a chance to get going and he will have an impact for us'.

"I find the criticism of him difficult to take. I know it happens, all Coventry websites and people posting things up. "I've never seen one, and have no intention of looking at one, but I get told.

"It just frustrates me that he seemed to come here with a bit of baggage and with people suspicious of him."

Meanwhile, Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has said that he will not recall Kevin Kyle from his loan at Molineux. The City boss told the CT: "I have not thought about recalling him. "I know Kevin had a difficult time when he was here but we have not looked in that direction and this is no disrespect to Kevin."
