Former Coventry City striker Leon Clarke was taken to hospital on Friday night after being injured playing for Wigan Athletic.
Clarke is on loan at Wigan and suffered a neck/shoulder injury in the 30th minute of Wigan's 3-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic.
Clarke was stretchered off, having been placed in a neck brace and was taken to hospital.
Malky McKay said to Wigan's club website: "Leon Clarke has suffered a neck/shoulder injury and has been taken to hospital to be assessed."
