Former Coventry City player, caretaker manager, U23's boss and Academy coach Lee Carsley has left Birmingham City tonight.

Carsley had been assistant to Steve Cotterill, who was sacked by The Blues on Saturday evening after moving up from their U23's.

The former Republic Of Ireland international had been caretaker for three games when Harry Redknapp left and had former City defender Paul Williams with him. Williams left Birmingham on Saturday night following the dismissal of Cotterill.

Birmingham City have now appointed Gary Monk who has brought Pep Clotet, hence Carsley's departure from the club.
