A national television advert by betting company Ladbrokes have slammed by some Coventry City supporters.

The advert which includes the tag line -  "He's a man with a 10-team accumulator....it's why he bets on Coventry to win away this weekend." has received criticism from City supporters on social media following the airing of the advert during the England game on Friday night.

Ladbrokes, a company already understood to be being avoided by some punters as their odds are not the most generous, were contacted by the Coventry Telegraph and told them: : "In no way was our Ladbrokes Life campaign intended to mock Coventry City or their fans. It was simply a reference to a character called The Believer who puts an emphasis on hope above all else. He would share our hope that the great club is soon restored to its former glory.".
