It is nice and sunny afternoon in Kilmarnock and there are 136 Coventry City fans inside Rugby Park.

Donovan Simmonds isn't in either of the teams.

City have had two early corners and had a Leon Best headed goal disallowed on 9 minutes. Eastwood had a good shot blocked.

There have been a few meaty challenges going in from both teams and Simpson was involved in a clash of heads, but is OK.

13 minutes gone and the score is 0-0

A few more Coventry fans have made their way into the ground, bringing the total of City fans to 174.

Kilmarnock continue to lump the ball forward, more in hope than expectation.
After 19 minutes Best is replaced by Morrison.

Eastwood, in the 24th minute, shot on the turn from 20 yards, but it went high over the bar. Elliot Ward is solid at the back, while Westwood has been good with punching any danger away.

The 174 City supporters are sat in the left hand side of the main stand and are pretty quiet waiting for a goal.

33 minutes gone and the score is 0-0.

Morrison, in the 34th minute, has a shot on target, his first in the pre season friendlies. Kilmarnock have a corner in the 37th minute which Pascali headed wide from 8 yards out. Two minutes later and Kilmarnock attack again, this time a Skelton cross is met by a diving header by Bryson and is saved by Westwood wit his feet. Westwood then superbly came out to block a shot on the edge of the area from Taouil.

Jay Tabb shot over the bar from 25 yards in the 44th minute and seconds later fires wide from an Eastwood cross.

The teams go in at half time with the score 0-0.

No changes made at half time. The news on Leon Best is that he took a knock and was withdrawn as a precaution and he should be OK for next week.

Morrison had a good run down the right and had his shot deflected into the side of the net, The resulting corner was just missed by Eastwood.

With 54 minutes gone, the first goal is scored and it is a sky blue one. Julian Gray got into the box and was brought down. Elliot Ward thumped home the spot kick.

Kilmarnock 0 Coventry City 1 (Ward, pen 54)

Lovely bit of skill form Julian Gray on 57 minutes, to take the ball round his man and cross only to see Simpson stab wide. More skill from Gray when he played in Eastwood, who in turn, danced round the defence, before being blocked by the last man.

The passing is good although the final ball is nor spot on. The City support are cheering every pass.
