Kean On What The Ref Said

Steve Kean was left to do the talking after Coventry City's controversial 2-1 defeat at Cardiff City.

On Freddie Eastwood's goal which was disallowed by an inexperienced referee and an assistant referee clearly imtimidated by the home support in the main stand, Kean told the media: said: "We think that if the assistant believed it was a deliberate handball by our player then he shouldn't have lowered his flag.

"We spoke to the referee after the game and he told us why he had disallowed our goal. "Apparently, he thought the assistant was flagging for offside and it was only when he spoke to him as the players were going back to the centre circle, that he realised it was for handball."
