KCIC Say Thank You

Last updated : 27 January 2014 By KCIC

Yet again so proud of our incredible manager and team on Friday night. We came so close to making it 2-1 second half and who knows what might have happened then.

And so proud of the SBA with the Why/When signs. The applause from Arsenal fans was awesome and media coverage was excellent – too much for an email but vids, pics and links are at http://keepcovincov.weebly.com/whywhen-event-at-arsenal-24114.html

So thank you to Steven Pressley and every one of our players. Also a sincere thank you for all the very kind messages of support I’ve received and which are greatly appreciated - I’m only sorry I can no longer reply to every message – but the way kcic operates is through literally hundreds (thousands?) of Sky Blues supporters doing things as and when they can. So thank you also to the City fans who:

œ produced all the Why?/When? signs œ transported them across London to be ready on the night œ did media stuff œ handed out the signs œ brought their own signs and banners œ negotiated with Emirates stadium management œ liaised with Arsenal fans and got their support œ were there from day 1 of organising this œ when the plan was attacked by internet trolls, defended it œ chipped in with a bit of cash when we really needed it. And while we’re at it, thank you to œ the City fan who founded nopm which became the sixfields boycott and kcic œ everyone who has been involved in previous kcic events which built the foundations for Friday to happen.

AND THANK YOU TO THE THOUSANDS OF CITY FANS WHO HELD UP THE SIGNS ON FRIDAY, SANG THEIR HEARTS OUT AND MADE THE WORLD HEAR OUR MESSAGE – WE WANT TO GO HOME!

What next? Campaign for an Independent Inquiry: ‘Without Fans there is no Football’

  • kcic has for a long time wanted an Independent Inquiry to call to account all those responsible for the mess CCFC is in and Friday has provided a great platform to do this
  • Having looked at different options the best one is a Parliamentary Select Committee (remember when Rupert Murdoch had a foam cake thrown at him – that was at a Parliamentary Select Committee)
  • The Department for Culture, Media and Support Select Committee has looked at football previously so we need to persuade them to do an Inquiry into CCFC using an on-line petition
  • For them to be interested it has to be of national significance so it needs to be about  using us as an example of problems facing the game generally and the need for action
  • It will need very large numbers of people to sign the on-line petition so we will need support from fans of other clubs too
  • Details are being finalised and will be published asap.
