Coventry City manager Mark Robins has said that Jodi Jones is under no pressure to return.

The midfielder has been sidelined with an ACL injury which he sustained in the 1-1 draw at Stevenage in November 2017 and although he has made some brief appearances in a couple of City U23's games this season, his progress has been slower than some would have liked.

That is not a view shared by the City boss who told this morning's press conference: “He’s training this week, but I won’t put a date on it, I think he has to get himself up to speed.

“When you’ve been out a long time, you’re looking at last November, coming up to a year and we were in a league below but we’ve moved on now and new players have come in and we’re playing at a different level.

“All those things add up to trying to hit the levels you have to hit to get into the first team, but when you’ve been injured like that first thing you have to dis get over the psychological barriers if there are any and get up to the levels of fitness and movement.

“I know he has got speed, pace, skill and trickery and all those things but then fitting into what we’re doing at the moment will take time.

“I won’t put him under any pressure and put a date on it so that will remain the case, he has to go at his own speed.”
