Coventry City caretaker manager Richard Shaw felt that it was a shame the way the City players played at Crewe during the 1-0 defeat for the City support.
Speaking to Joe Hewison, Shaw said: “We are disappointed with the result, obviously. We weren’t at our best today and it is a shame to play like that in front of a large away support.
“It was a really, really poor goal to concede. When you have periods where teams have a lot of the football you have to be stronger.
“We talked about concentration in the week but a couple of people have dived in and not tackled and we are disappointed with the defending for the goal.
“We changed a lot at half-time, changed the formation, had more width and we had a go at them. Some balls were flashed across the edge, Cody (McDonald) hit the bar and we felt we had enough chances to win the game in the second half.
“Crewe is a hard place to come and get a result. They have a tremendous record at home, good young players just like Ashley Westwood, who moved to Aston Villa recently for £1million.
“They are a good side and they will give anyone a match at home we are just disappointed with our performance.”
