Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said that he won’t be able to do much if City do get a big offer for one of his players.

Rumours have been linking interest in Sammy Clingan, Martin Cranie and Richard Keogh but so far, there has been nothing more than speculation.

Speaking to the CT, Andy Thorn said: “When players go out I don’t think managers have a say in it these days.

"They can have an opinion.  "It’s down to finances, isn’t it, and if clubs get a good offer I don’t think the manager has much of a say.

“You just have to do the best you can with whatever comes back to you.

“As I’ve always said you want to hold on to your best players but you want to add.

"There are a few boys looking to play more regular football and that’s fine – I haven’t got a problem with that and they will probably be the ones to go and then I can bring in some fresh faces.”
