I Can See It From A Supporters View Point - Coleman

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has brought a refreshing change to after match press conferences with his honest approach which is far more in line with City supporters view of the game than the spiel trotted out by some managers.

Coleman, who has never been afraid to admit that he is a Swansea City fan, has admitted that he often thinks like a supporter.

"I think the fans are buying into our expectations now," said Coleman to the CT.

"I often put myself in our supporters' shoes and over the last seven or eight years they have probably had so many empty promises and have had the feeling that this is going to be their year and it never happens.

"But I think they have realised now, let's hold on a minute, this is going to take time and maybe we need to be a little bit patient.

"Of course they don't like it when we lose or play poorly, and they let us know because our fans are no different to anyone else around the country.

"But they can also see the players we are signing and trying to attract, and I like to think we have improved the squad, and I think they like it that we are trying to build a younger squad to ensure we have got a good team in place for the next four or five years.

"So I think they have bought into that now, whereas at the start they may have thought, 'Here we go again,' because they have seen it all before, and I can appreciate that.

"So it is nice when you see a big Midlands derby like we had last week against Wolves who are top of the league when the atmosphere at the ground was great.

"And I said to the players, if you want that every week, get into the top six and our supporters will give us that every week, if, we give them something to shout about.

"But we have got to get there. Everything is in place except for the team and the position in the league and that's the last thing that we need, and it is up to us to make sure that we get what we want."
