Former Coventry City loanee Jordan Henderson has signed a new five year deal with Liverpool.

Henderson has signed a five year deal worth £100,000 a week but he has said that he wants to win things with the Merseyside based club.

"We have to kick-on and start winning things," Henderson is quoted by the Daily Star as saying.

"We can't always say that we have got a lot of potential in the team and then never end up winning anything.

"We have made big improvements over the last couple of years but the next phase for us is to win things. Next season is going to be a big season.

"The conversations that I have had with Brendan Rodgers about what we are looking to achieve have been positive.

"I set high standards for myself. I am ambitious and I want to win as many medals as I can. I feel this is the right club to do it."
