Hard Work Starts Now - Ranson

Coventry City Chairman Rany Ranson has said that the hard work starts now as the former Man City player and Chris Coleman seek to turn things round.

"You can just about say we've recovered now from the Charlton game," said
Ranson to Sky Blue World. "But it was quite a traumatic period, especially the last 15 minutes when the score was at 3-1 and Southampton were winning so it was out of our control for the first time since I have been here.

"It was pretty scary but we just got over the line and we can now move the football side of the club on. We would like to see ourselves at the other end of the table next season, it would make everybody's lives a lot easier."

"It's been a very traumatic period for the football club. "There's been a lot of work at the football club and now we can work on the team side of things.

"Arriving at the club in mid-December wasn't ideal and there has been the change of management but now we can focus on the team and start to make some changes."

"There's been a well earned break for us all but I'm due to meet with Chris later on today with the rest of the coaching staff and the hard work for us starts now.

"Johnny Murtough (Performance Director) and Andy Thorn (Head Scout) were very well respected in the roles that they held at Premiership football clubs but we've managed to attract them here which bodes well for the recruitment process and the fitness of the players going forward."

Ranson admitted that the recruitment of new players is well underway and he hopes to see new players arriving in the not too distant future.

"The process has started and we are very active at the moment on that side of things, although there are a few months to go until it really starts to take off with pre-season training and building towards the new season.

"I don't know about millions and millions but we've certainly got some money to spend. It would be silly of us to advertise how much we've got to spend because immediately the price goes up for players.

"Chris would not have come here if we didn't have ambition. We are all buying into what we want to achieve - build a football club and bring the right players in."
