The left back who rejoined his home town club after spells at Southampton and Stoke is out of contract at the end of the season.
Micky Adams told the CET: "Marcus is someone we would like to keep and we will be in discussions in the near future, but there is nothing concrete at the moment. "I have had a brief word with his agent, put it that way.
"Marcus is an honest, hard working professional footballer who is a Coventry boy and wants to do well for the city and I have never had any other thoughts on him than that."
