Coventry City midfielder Aron Gunnarsson is unhappy with some of the comments attributed to him by the Scottish press over the weekend.

The Iceman is in Scotland for Iceland's World Cup Qualifier at Hampden Park tonight and spoke to some of the media about Celtic who have shown an interest in him.

However, he is not going to be joining Celtic and City boss Chris Coleman told the CT: "Speaking with Aron, he is quite angry about some of the stories because he has been quoted when he has not really said what they have said, but he's only 19 and still very young.

"He might have said one or two things and they have turned it into something else, and that's inevitable.

But Aron has indicated that he is more than happy with us and I fully expect him to sign a new contract in the summer when we want to strengthen again and build a team around the Aron Gunnarssons that we have in the team at the minute.

"Aron has never knocked on my door and asked for a new contract or talked about what plans we have got for the team.

"All he has done is come in and got his head down, concentrating on his own game.

"He is a great team player and I pulled Aron into my office recently and told him we will be giving him a new contract at the end of the season and that he is not for sale at any price.

"His response was, 'I don't want to leave Coventry. I love it here and am enjoying my football,' so he's not a problem whatsoever.

"The thing is, we can't control what is said outside of our football club, unfortunately."
