Preston North End manager Simon Grayson felt that his side made hard work of their 1-0 win against Coventry City.
Grayson told the Press Association: "We made hard work of it. We didn't have the energy and the tempo that we had on Tuesday night.
"We've got to be better with decision making and we've told the players to push out and get the opposition playing in their half.
"Ultimately we've not done as well as we would like to do but we've got the three points which is all that matters at times.
"We've got the result but if we play like that most weeks we're not going to get to where we want to get to.
"We set high standards on Tuesday night and we didn't really reach them here. Sometimes you have to grind games out and take the result rather than the performance."
