Coventry City 1987 FA Cup winning striker Cyrille Regis has been awarded an MBE in the Queens Birthday Honours.

"C" as he is known by many people in the game, also played for England, Villa, West Brom and Wolves and has been a qualified agent for a number of years.

He was given the award for services to the voluntary sector and to football.

Regis, who joined Coventry City in 1985 and was sold by Terry Butcher,  told the CT that he was surprised,delighted and proud with the honour which wil see him invested at Buckingham Palace
