Goal-Line Technology Coming In

Goal-line technology could be in use in the Premier League half way through the 2013-2014 season after its use was agreed in Zurich by the International Football Association Board on Thursday.

Two systems - Hawk-Eye and GoalRef - have passed Fifa's criteria and the technology will be used for the FIFA Club World Cup featuring Champions League winners Chelsea in December.

The Premier League have said that they want it in use as quickly as possible but the costs are understood to be behind the reasons why it won't be used in Football League matches.

However, it may be used at the Ricoh Arena if the stadium were to attract any international matches in the future after it is implemented.
