Coventry City striker Freddie Eastwood has said he is looking forward to playing matches starting with the pre-season trip to Wrexham on Saturday.

"It's great to be back and I can't wait to get out playing matches," said Eastwood to the CT.

"Being a striker there's nothing like seeing the ball hit the back of the net, whether that is in training or in games, and the great thing about the pre-season training here is they get you working with a ball straight away.

"There is a bit of running as well but the training has been really enjoyable so far."

He added: "I have been injured on and off during the last couple of pre-seasons as well as joining Wolves and Coventry later in the pre-season but I have started with everyone else this year and I am hoping that will make a big difference, to get a proper one under my belt for the first time in a while.

"I feel mentally fresh and raring to go and I can't wait to kick a ball in anger and start putting it in the back of the net. The lads were disappointed with the way last season finished and we know that things can only get better and we are all determined to finish higher up the table this year."

The Sky Blue Trust are running a coach to Wrexham and places are available for the coach which leaves Coventry Sports Centre at 11.30am. You can book them by Pat on 07963 953 497 Monday - Friday before 6pm or emailing anthonyraybould@talktalk.net
