Simon Haworth has had his contract with Tranmere Rovers cancelled by mutual consent. The Welsh striker had struggled to over come a broken leg.

Gordon Strachan has been linked with the manager's job at West Ham United. Fans and Board members are restless with current boss Alan Pardew and are looking for Strachan to take them back to the Premiership. However, with the news today that former player Tony Cottee is behind a consortium to take over the Upton Park club, other names may come in to the frame.

Matt Jansen will not play again this season for Blackburn Rovers. The striker turned to City as part of his rehabiliation from a motor cycle accident and had featured for the Ewood Park club in the early part of the season. However, Mark Hughes has told Jansen to have a complete break from football and that his future will be reviewed in the summer.
