The Republic of Ireland went down to  a 3-0 defest to Belgium in the Euro 2016 group E match this afternoon.

Four former Coventry City players started the game on the bench for Ireland, Kieren Westwood, Robbie Keane, Richard Keogh and Cyrus Christie, but only Keane managed to get onto the field of play as a 77th minute substitute when he replaced Shane Long.

By the time Keane was introduced, Belgium were already 3-0 up with 2 goals from Lukaku and one from Witsel.

Keane, Ireland's leading goalscorer of all time, with 67 international goals, and their most capped player, today made his 145th appearance for his country.

Ireland now must beat Italy on Wednesday to have any chance of making it out of the group Stages.
